Criminological Theory as an Art Form: Implications for Criminal Justice PolicyThis essay provides a brief review of the development and current status of criminological theory. The central argument is that criminological theorizing is in considerable part an art form, in which relatively fuzzy theoretical arguments are commonplace. As a result, our potential for informing public policy has been and probably will continue to be limited.
