Unfit for Human Consumption: The Problem of Flawed Writing in Criminal Justice and What to do about it

Don C. Gibbons

This article provides an account of the processes that are involved in the production of Crime & Delinquency. It also discusses the various "warts" and "blemishes" that are common in the submissions received by the journal. The problem of flawed writing in criminology and criminal justice appears to be a systemic rather that an individual one. Finally, a number of suggestions are offered to authors regarding ways in which writing can be improved.
